M&CWelcome to our blog.

The fact that you are reading this blog, indicates that you are a person with curiosity who has a desire to explore the infinite opportunities in the wonderful world of homeschooling. It is our objective to provide a delicious menu of homeschool topics to assist you in your quest for expanded expertise.  We tend to migrate toward an “out of the box” attitude and plan on many posts reflecting this position.  Within the homeschool blogosphere you will find a majority of opinions encouraging a more “school at home” position at the cost of the many benefits of an experiential approach often recommended by experts as Dr. Raymond Moore,  John Taylor Gatto, John Holt and a multitude of other outstanding pioneers .  Our experience in homeschooling our own children combined with our expertise in learning styles and working with special needs children allow us the freedom to customize programs to insure a high rate of success for our families.  Our love of games will also be obvious as we introduce you to the power of games in the learning process.

We homeschooled our oldest daughter all the way to 17 at which time she became a full time college student resulting in a degree in Aviation.  The interesting part is that she did not learn to read until age eight.  Her younger sister was homeschooled through 10th grade finishing her high school years at a Christian high school and finishing her education with a degree in Theology.  Like her sister, she was a delayed reader, learning how to read at age 10.  We were very thankful for the insights of both the Moores and Holt for this success.  It will be one of our objectives to share with you these exciting insights.

It is our hope that you will find this platform a recurring source of inspiration and ideas to support you in your homeschool endeavor.  We encourage your comments, questions and ideas.  If you don’t see a topic you want to explore, please leave a comment on this blog.
