Meet the Teacher: Dahlia Abrams
Dahlia is a chef and functional nutrition counselor with 30 years of experience teaching children. She has cooked in professional kitchens, competed on MasterChef, and now runs Nourish by Dahlia, her local culinary and nutrition business where she offers personal chef services and approachable cooking workshops. She also provides simple, practical nutrition support for individuals and families. And as a longtime homeschool parent, Dahlia brings a calm, patient, and supportive hands-on approach to every class, helping students feel capable, confident, and excited to cook.

A technique‑based cooking course for students ready to build practical culinary skills and explore the art of cooking. Each week, young chefs dive into hands-on lessons that introduce core methods, flavor building, and multi‑step recipes. Students experiment with ingredients, practice essential techniques, and learn how temperature and method transform food.
The semester is designed to challenge older or more experienced students while supporting beginners with clear guidance and confidence‑building practice. By the end, students will have strengthened their kitchen independence, discovered new culinary interests, and created dishes they’re proud of.

- Exploring how temperature and technique change food
