Description:

Who were the Pilgrims and why would they travel 66 days by ship to go to a place that had absolutely nothing? Learn what it takes to make such a voyage; the sacrifices, the dangers, the obstacles, the challenges and the triumphs. We’ll do this as we make a parallel trip to a deserted island in order to discover the answers to the commonly asked questions regarding the Pilgrims and some not so common questions. The adventure will include reading an actual account of a 10 year old passenger on the Mayflower and by doing projects and playing games. Travelers will take away an understanding of why the plight of the Pilgrims is such an important part of our American education.

This course is an excellent lead-in for next semesters class;

COLONIAL AMERICA / Jamestown, suitable for grades 6-8

We do not accept charter funds at this time.
