Hello! I am the woman, the myth, and the legend, Ms. Sally. I have taught for 35 years and am able to make math stick for even the most reluctant students.  For this course we use Gaughan, Algebra: Second Course which offers a very streamlined approach. I homeschooled both of my daughters, one of whom did not love math, but was able to ace college graduation requirements for an Honors Program. The other daughter became a Mechanical Engineer. Go figure.

Please note that Algebra 2 DOES NOT have a Geometry prerequisite. Topics include: Integers and Polynomials, Rational Numbers and Rational Expressions, Real Numbers and Algebraic Expressions, Complex Numbers, Linear Functions and Relations, Quadratic Functions and Equations, Quadratic Relations, Systems of Equations and Inequalities, Matrices and Systems of Equations, Exponential and Logarithmic Functions, Sequences and Series, Trigonometry, Trigonometric Functions, Trigonometric Identities.

This course requires a minimum of eight students and will accept a maximum of fifteen students.

SUMMER 2022 CLASSES

Please, Please, Please Don’t Lose Your Math Skills Over the Summer!

Taught by:  Sally Dungan

This course will meet on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from June 14th to July 7th, and July 19th to July 28. (EIE will be closed the week of July 11th.)

The class will take place from 1:00 to 2:30.

This course will use an individualized curriculum to help students retain and deepen their math skills for the next year’s courses. I will work with students who have completed Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, and Algebra 2. I will provide material appropriate to reinforce each student’s current mastery and move forward into new topics (even Pre-Calculus) as the opportunity arises.

This course requires a minimum of eight students and will accept a maximum of ten students.

The cost for this six week course will be $300. (If a train leaves Chicago at 3pm, and another leaves St. Louis at 4pm…why, that’s only $10.00 per hour for semi-individualized tutoring!)
