The goal of this class is for each student to write a 50,000 word novel in 4 weeks.  Yup, that’s a lot of writing.  What better time to take on such a monumental challenge than summer. Think about it. When your student is asked, “So, what did you do this summer?”  He/she will be able to reply, “Oh nothing much. I just wrote a novel.”

The first week of the class will be a warm up and pre-writing meeting to strategize and prepare for the task. Then the race begins.  While the novel is being written over four weeks, the class will critique excerpts from fellow students’ books, listen to and make suggestions, and learn a few rhetorical tools.  The last class meeting is to strategize and celebrate.
